The natural beauty of wood

STORIES

A space where neutral colors and minimalist lines articulate the visual language. A dialogue between nordic suggestions and mediterranean warmth that enhance our mitteleuropean soul.

The large window opens onto the terrace and floods a discreet and welcoming living space with light. A natural palette coats the elements that make up the room in a skillful mix of rigor and warm elegance. A space that reveals an encounter with the styles of the past, defined by lounge chair N. 200 designed by Michael Anastassiades and presented in 2019 to celebrate the two hundredth anniversary of the founding of the very first carpentry workshop started by Michael Thonet in Boppard.

A timeless seat, deliberately dry in its minimalist elegance, that aims at the essence of design investigation like the coffee tables of the Single curve collection designed by Nendo in 2015.

Completing this living interior is Targa, the sofa signed in 2015 by GamFratesi, the Italian-Danish design duo made of Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi, which becomes the ideal stage for authentic conviviality. It is not difficult to imagine a conversation welcomed by the curved beechwood frame that supports the wide seat cushion and the upholstered back that ends with a border made of Vienna straw.

Natural light permeates the room and shapes the space with smooth shadows: an open and continuous interaction with nature and the garden, where a sunny landscape suggests a summer background of cicadas.

The rigor of natural ash is expressed in Fabio Fantolino‘s new Säule table, which declines with solid lightness the brand’s traditional curved lines: a formal harmony enhanced by the sculptural beauty of Ample, designed by Luca Nichetto, where the art of steam bending is applied to metal instead of wood. Completing the painstaking play of lines and forms is the new Tipì hanging lamp by Francesca de Giorgi, in which the linen-covered shade lets the solid geometries of the structure shine through.

Finally, India Mahdavi expresses the company’s ancestral know-how with the new Mickey lounge chair, amplifying the beauty and roundness of curved beech wood in sharp contrast to the rigorous design of the heritage Postsparkasse collection. The armchair and stool designed by Otto Wagner in 1906 soften their lines through the warmth imparted by the wooden chromatics.
