In risposta all’invito della storica azienda Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, India Mahdavi ha concepito la famiglia di prodotti LOOP, poltrona lounge e banquette, che ha il fascino di un disegno fatto a mano e beneficia del loro know-how ancestrale: “Gebrüder Thonet Vienna è l’unica azienda manifatturiera al mondo che permette di tradurre un disegno a mano libera dandogli una materialità lignea di quella qualità”.
Tuttavia, in questo esercizio, India non ha sollevato la matita, che invece è rimasta fedele al movimento. Il filo conduttore della collezione Loop materializza il telaio nello spazio e si avvolge su se stesso prima di inseguire il suo percorso, lasciando due “loop” piegati nella sua scia. I suoi seducenti riccioli si spingono oltre i limiti del possibile: India chiede al legno di raddoppiare i suoi sforzi per amplificare la sua bellezza e rotondità.
India offre una tavolozza di colori sotto forma di falsi amici: colori che si scontrano perché simili ma non identici.
Il Loop ha chiuso il cerchio.

Architect, designer and scenographer, India Mahdavi is based in Paris. Her studio, created in 2000, is known for the diversity of its international projects which explore the fields of architecture, interior design, scenography, furniture and object design
