Today among the most interesting contemporary design companies, with a unique heritage in the sector and with roots dating back to the 1800s, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna GmbH (GTV) is taking part in Downtown Design.
The main event of the Dubai Design Week, Downtown Design is the benchmark event in the Middle East, a showcase that is therefore particularly interesting for the historic brand experiencing significant growth in this area together with the local dealer H&H Procurement LLC. GTV’s products, both historical and contemporary pieces, are indeed increasingly appreciated by local architects and contractors, and selected for refined contract and residential projects.
Representing the refined style of the brand, a selection of the most iconic pieces from the contemporary collection are being exhibited in Dubai, such as the TARGA sofa by GamFratesi, and the lounge chairs LEHNSTUHL by Nigel Coates and HIDEOUT by Front. Also on show are three pieces from the 2018 collection: the CARYLLON table by Cristina Celestino; the PROMENADE armchairs by Philippe Nigro and the WIENER BOX tables by Cristian Mohaded.
Among them are heterogeneous pieces, the result of collaborations with designers who make research one of the distinctive traits of their creative path, capable of introducing their personal vision of the brand into the collection. Perfect examples of GTV’s profound calling for design research, characteristic of a union between the brand’s prestigious past and its future, with the aim of continuing innovatively along the path set by tradition.
